I have furniture financed through a local furniture company. One of my
payments was late. I have made my payments on time since then, but the
company keeps adding a late fee for that one late payment. They told that although my payments have been on time I still haven't paid the past due balance and until I pay that they will continue to add the late fees. I told them that this was not included in the contract and they stated that it was. When I looked over it again it does state that you will receive a 5% or 15.00 late charge whichever one is higher, but it does not state that these late fees will be continuous if the previous late fee is not paid. Is there anything that I can do about this?
