Hello,

Recently, a friend of mine was ticketed for "running a red light (left red arrow)." I was with him when it happened. To me, it just looked like he was going with the flow of traffic. If he had stopped, he would have ended up getting tail-gated or blocking a busy intersection. Anyways, he received a notice in the mail. The notice said that it would cost him about $400, and that a point would be put on his insurance. I'm willing to do whatever I can to help him out with this trouble, such as writing out a statement or appearing in court -- especially, since he was driving me somewhere when it happened. I told him that I would contest it. I have no idea if this is the right strategy to use, because it's basically our word against a cop's. But then, that is still two people against one. So...What would be the best thing to do with this situation? Should he contest it? Is there anything he should be mindful of if he contests it?

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Frank :)
