Hired an Architect to draw plans for our Bakery and he did just that and submitted to the city and it was approved after 4 months. 7 months later we are still trying to get our final inspection when the city's building inspector comes in and tells our contractors that no more inspections will happen until firewall issue has been corrected. To our surprise we had no idea about a firewall requirement that wasn't met because in our drawing the Architect has listed as 2 hour firewall is existing on both side of our leased space. We were one week from opening and have been paying out for 11 months and now ready to get revenue but hindered by this latest action of the city development branch. We feel that both the Architect and city are negligent and should be held liable for expenses associated with the demolition of current walls and construction of firewalls and the recurring expenses that we receive until we open as well as attorney fees.
