Hello,

I have recently resigned from my company. To give a little background, I am the Managing Director of a foreign owned company. I report to the President of the company, who is located overseas.

In negotiating my departure, there was a discussion of unused vacation pay. My bosses decided that instead of replacing me, they would re-distribute my work among 3 or 4 other people. In so doing, the company responsibility has been spread over these people.

Our HR manager, in trying to determine what my employment contract stated, showed my contract to our Sales Manager and our Quality Manager (both of whom work for me as well as the HR manager).

Is this information confidential? Should it have been shared with others outside of the Personnel Department?

Thanks for the help!

No, it is not confidential. Whether it "should" have been shown to them is not something we can evaluate here. I can, however, tell you that no laws were violated.
