Sex Crimes, Sex Offenders Computer search and seizure

I recently am under investigation for childpornography and indicent acts. I know that i have not willingly downloaded child specific pornography. And that i guess ive heard there is like only one or two files on my computer that look like child porn. When i first was let known i was underinvestigation for "eavsdropping", because i filmed once my girlfriend and I having sex, and once another soldier, that i was dating. MPI got a warrent so search my room for anything that i guess was for Media purposes. They trashed my room took burned CD's (music), but the really important thing is that MPI investigator never shower me a warrent, never read me my rights while i was in my room with him there, then asked me for my password to my computer because he couldnt get on it and where the files were. Being honest and trying to do the right thing i told him my password and showed him where the two files were. He was also looking through a lot of different places in my computer while i was there. They took all this out of my room and a couple days later i have to go to CID because there is child porn on my computer! The MPI investigator is not certified in computer forensics and is he allow to search my computer without making a copy of the hard drive? Does this make it all addmissable?

first of all sounds to me like your MPI investigator is just doing his job. he must have had had a good idea that something like that was in your computer since you showed him the other files. if i was guessing i would say that the childpornography was what they were looking for in the first place. i am glad that the government keeps such a close eye on that kind of stuff. every sicko that they catch looking at it on thier computer could stop them from actually performming it someday on a child. anyone that likes to look at that sort of stuff will get what they deserve, most of the time a lot sooner than later. just be proud that your MPI investigator is trying to keep the streets safe for kids from sick people that prey on them!

you are very right, but that doesnt help me at all. It would be different if i had thousands of files or pictures or had a history of this stuff. Its one file...that i never intentially downloaded and im facing a FELONY. Ive never been in trouble in my entire life.
