If I am a Hungarian citizen, but a legal UK resident for the past few years, can I request to have my US green card hearing at the US Embassy in London rather than traveling all the way back to Budapest?

You can request it, but you won't like the answer.

You might also have jeopardized your chances at getting a US Green Card, if you tell US Authorities that you've NOT been living in your native country these last few years!

It is my understanding that once you've formally applied for a Green card you are required to stay put until a decision is rendered.

US Authorities do allow some exceptions, but it requires their approval to receive these exceptions.

But, hey, I'm not an official US Authority.

I'm just another nutball on the internet answering questions.

You might want to run your question by one of those official US Authorities I wrote about!
