We have a collections account that we have not received a statement from for 4 months. We have asked for statements that show payments and how the interest has accrued and they have yet to provide us one. Our question is on our Credit Report it states the Status of the Account is CLOSED. It will be off of our credit report in 2010. Is this account affecting our credit and FICO score and our we required to pay this debt that was accrued while on disability with no medical insurance and an open workmen's comp case, I was food poisoned. It is 7 years old and I need to know what I should do legally. Thanks
