I was awarded a judgment today and the judge said something about thirty days. I couldn't quite understand what he said. My questions are; How do I go about collecting this judgment? What can I do to prepare for day thirty-one? Can I collect if I return to my home state, and how?

isn't easy to use

You will soon learn that a judgment is a fancy piece of toilet paper, except its harder to use for that purpose than to collect the darn thing.

Nevertheless, here's how you can TRY to enforce that judgment yourself:

If you pay someone, they'll TRY to collect it for you:

I am NOT endorsing the above companies.
I point them out as ILLUSTRATIVE of what some people do to collect judgments.
Be advised, nothing is guaranteed.

You'll soon learn why MOST of these judgments are useless.

Agree with army judge - getting the judgment is the "easy" part. Collecting the judgment is a different story.

I agree the paper is best suited for TP. Are there any provisions for recouping the money I will have to pay for enforcement?

If the judgment is large, it may be possible to consign the judgment to a collection agency, instead if paying them to try and collect.
They may request 50% or more of any amount they collect.
Be sure to set a time limit (they may not agree to this) before the consignment expires. Maybe 2 years max? Then try someone else.

A collection agency might even offer to buy the judgment outright from you (unlikely though).

Generally if a collection agcy. buys a judgment, it's pennies on the dollar.
