Collecting commissions due

I recently left a position where I was due commission on projects signed prior to me leaving the company. That company now states that they will not pay me for those contracts (I worked for this company for 2 years under a verbal contract). I understand that I have legal rights to collect what is due even though I have left the company. They state that they gave away my commission as additional discount to these customers to keep their business even though they had already signed the contract. Am I still entitled to these monies? Any information regarding this matter, including how to collect, would be very much appreciated.

Hard to say since a valid answer would depend on a combination of state law (and you did not identify your state) and your commission agreement (which we have not read).

Your best bet is probably to contact your state DOL and/or an employment attorney in your state.
