Collecting Canadian Judgement against US Citizen

I won a judgement in a Canadian court against a US citizen. While I've been able to find information on collecting a Canadian judgement in Canada and a US judgement in the US, I haven't been able to track down any information on the cross border issue. Does anyone know how to collect from a US citizen when the judgement was given in Canada?

The US is not party to any international treaty governing enforcement of foreign judgments yet. Therefore it is up to the states to make rules about it and up to the courts to accept the validity of the judgment.

So you would have to contact state authorities in the state where you would want to enforce the judgment for more information. You might need the help of an attorney who is experienced in international collection.
