Co-worker paid for my work

I work at an auto dealer in Texas. I'm paid commission on the labor hours I sell. If I sell labor to a customer can the commssion earned be paid to my co-worker? The customer returned at a later date for the repairs. The tecnician that had working on the car had since been moved to my co-worker's team. I asked him if I could give the job back to his tech since he deserved the job & pay. My co-worker said yes, but later was upset when I asked that those labor hours be paid to me. He didn't know that I wanted to be paid for my work (yeah, right!). My manager decided to pay my co-worker because I didn't okay the use of his tech with my manager first. There is no written policy stating this consequence.
