City Planner position paid Anonymously?

Hi There. First off I am sorry if this is not the forum or way to have this answered but cannot find anything about it. My local city has hired a City Planner. His position was created after somebody anonymously has paid the yearly salary for this position. Is this legal? Could not one expect a "kickback" because of this? I just don't think the city should release a statement about his position and how he is being paid without anyone to object or know who the donor is.

You are free to subpoena the information. You may or may not be successful, depending on what departments have possession of the information. From an HR perspective you won't get very far. From general fund records you likely will.
