I received a summons about my ex lowering his child suport as our oldest is 19 lives with me and does not work. Our youngest is 12. Do I need a lawyer and do I go to court are does the court just handle it? What happens here?
Not sure you need a lawyer. What state are you in? CS ends at 18 in most states unless your decree says otherwise. A couple of states like NY and IN it is until 21. Otherwise he should not be paying CS for a 19 yr old even if he lives at home.
Decree says 19 . we are in Alabama and I don't have a problem with it. Just not sure if I need to hire a lawyer or does the court just decide how much it should be for the 12 year old
