My jurisdiction is: Ohio

I have a daughter with a woman I was never married to and currently pay child support. I am being audited to see if I owe more money for child support. Since my last audit my salary has increased, however I have also divorced and assumed all financial responsibilites for my residence. I live paycheck to paycheck and do not have an additional dime to give - which can be supported by copies of my bills. My question is, because my salary increased is it possible that I will be ordered to pay more child support resulting in me losing my house or becoming deliquent for other financial obligations?

I know that in that state of Alabama, your child support will go up if you have had a pay increase, regardless of your bills or other obligations. A woman can take the father of her child back to court every two years to have the child support increased. Good luck and I hope that everything works out for you! Like I said though, this is in Alabama and from what my father just said when he was paying child support, my mother was able to get more money, granted I am 26 now and this was a few years back, but I don't see the law changing since then!

If you have an increase in salary then yes its possible you may pay more support. You are expected to live within your means. If you have a marital settlement you are required to pay I suppose you can bring that up.
