My name is Marcus Knox and resides at 7574 Brazos Trail, Fairburn, Georgia. My son's mother and I are going through mediation at this time. We had several sessions already and the fact that my present wife are a Jehovah's Witness and don't celebrate holidays comes up. They have not allowed me holiday visitation, which is standard in my state. I question the judge about it and she stated that "you do even believe in holidays. Is it legal to not allow holiday visitation which is standard, because of religious preference.

If you yourself do not celebrate the holidays, when why would you get visitation on a religious holiday? Sorry but it does not make sense. If the child celebrates Christmas, do you think the child should be deprived of Christmas so you can have visits? You married a woman that does not celebrate holidays and if you choose to elect not to have them in your home, then it makes sense to give mom the visits on religious holidays. Same with Easter and the same nature. Sorry but I agree with the courts on this one. It would disrupt what the kids are used too if they have to not celebrate a holiday.

If you are not JW yourself I have no idea why you would let your wife's religion dictate your household and interfere with the visitation of your kids.
