I worked at a restaurant for just about a month. After quiting I recived my last check but it was only for $24, which
I knew my check should have been way more based on the hours that I worked. After coming in contact with the district manager of the compnay he said that I did recieve all the money for my hours in three seperate check, but the thing is, I only recieved two checks and had never even knew the 3rd one existed. The district manager said that the check had been cashed and signed by me. I asked for him to send me a copy of the check that "I signed". the signature looks like mine but after closly looking at it I could see a few differences in my normal signature and the one on the endorsement. I did not cash or sign this check. I contacted the police, but they just gave me a report number, did not ask for copies of anything and they told me to take the comapany to small claims court.what should I really do about this check fraud?
