I am a 25 year old male that has just been charged with (2) counts of Misdemeanor Battery in the State of Illinois, I have no prior convictions and only one prior arrest in my life (back in 2000 for kicking over a city dumpster, [Disorderly Conduct]) which was thrown out. These charges are false, and because of this the two people charging me are not even bothering showing up for court (or so I have been told by a mutual friend).

Can anyone tell me what are the chances I'll be facing incarceration/fines/etc. and what the most likely outcome will be? Everyone keeps telling me not to worry but it's different when you are the once facing possible jailtime.

Thanks

Same problem in Illinois

I am going through the exact same thing in Illinois I went to court the other party did not show up the case was dismissed now a week later I get a letter saying the state wants to pick the charges back up due to the other party getting the wrong court date.
