change minoe child's last name

I would like to change my seven year old's last name to my husband's, my son's, and mine. I am the managing conservator and the biological father is deceased. The biological father's step- parent and biological mother have court ordered grandparent visitation rights only. Please let me know how hard it would be and what steps I will have to take to achieve changing her name.

Check at your local courthouse for the forms necessary for name change. The process is usually not difficult, but the paternal grandmother may have standing to challenge the name change.
