I purchased a car on July 31st of 2008. My car was financed through HSBC bank auto loans. Two business days later HSBC gave me their welcome call and provided me with the account number of the loan. 12 days later the dealership calls me and tells me that they need additional financial information from me. Their excuse was that HSBC was getting out of the car loan business and that the new unnamed bank needed this information. I was told that if I could not come up with this documentation that the loan would be recalled and the dealership stated that they would need the truck back. I live in Maryland. I believe that both the bank and dealership are violating the contracts that were signed with me. If the dealership failed to collect proper documentation from me I would assume that this would fall on them. If the bank approved a loan for me based on the documentation provided then they should be held to that. Opinions?
