Car damage from date gone bad

Hello,

I met a girl online and we exchanged numbers. When we met, I told her I was not interested in continuing the date. She went crazy and wouldn't let me leave. She first went toward my car door handle after I had gotten into the car. I had locked it before she could do anything. She then stood behind the car so I could not pull out. I gently backed out and she had to move. She finally came to the front of the car, grabbed the driver side wiper and ripped it from the car as I drove off. She never made contact with me, only the car.

The only information I have on her is a cell phone number and first name. No one saw the meeting and attack, so I am concerned about establishing that she was even there, let alone that she did the damage to the car. We did chat a few times on the way to meet, so I guess cell phone records would prove that we talked. I also received one text from her around the time of the incident - but it was just a pretty innoucous "u around?". I have texted her a few times since then saying that I may press charges in hopes of getting a text from her admitting the incident or fault, but have gotten no response to help in that way.

My questions are: what charges may I press? Any criminal charges or just civil? Should I file a police report and what good would that do me? Is there any chance that I could win this case, and if so, what evidence could I use to prove a)that she was actually there, and b)that she is the one who did the damage. Thanks!

How long has it been since this alleged incident happened? Is the damage REALLY bad enough to make a report or would it just be worth it to chalk it up as a lesson learned in online dating?

What kind of damage are you trying to claim? I don't see here that you were physically harmed and that this incident has stopped you from continuing with your life. Monetary damage - filing the case in court will cost you more than the amount you had to pay for the replacement blind. So, the bottom line here is that you don't really have a strong case. It is best if you just move on!
