Can you use a company name in a Facebook Group fan page? ie Walmart Fan Club

Ok so there is this company, "XYZ Smokers" A company that manufactures and sells smokers. They have their own business facebook page, website, etc.

My question is, "Is it legal for a "fan" (someone not affiliated with the company) of "XYZ Smokers to create and maintain a facebook group called "XYZ Smoker Fans". Obviously it uses the company name, however if it doesn't use the company name, such fans could not find each other to share ideas etc in the facebook group.

Ironically enough, there actually is a Wal-Mart fan page:

I don't know if it operates with or without the consent of Wal-Mart but I'll tell you the same thing I tell everybody who asks that kind of question.

Get the written consent of the company. Period.
