I babysit for two sisters and my mom and I are not getting along. She doesn't like the way I look when I leave the house to go babysitting. I am showered with teeth brushed makeup on and hair done and wearing clean clothes after me having put up my hair in rollers. The problem with my hair is that it is fine and doesn't stay in place unless I put hairspray on it. I think my mom is the every hair in place kind of person. I take public transportation and so am walking out in all kinds of weather, most paricularly wind and when I arrive at my destination my hair doesn't look the same as when I left the house. I figure I do my best just putting it up and having it look decent. Anyway my mom has threatened that if she doesn't approve of the way I look when I leave the house that she and my dad will prevent me even if they have to tie me up. Can my parents legally do that?

Since your father is your guardian, then legally he does have the right to prevent you from leaving the house if he feels it is not in your best interests. I don't think he can tie you up, but he can call the police!

Please talk to your parents about some solutions to the problem. I have fine hair too, and sometimes I wear a hat or scarf when the weather is bad.

Good luck :)
