Can I sue if found not guilty on charges brought against me?

Can I sue someone who is harassing me and brought false charges against me of harassment? I believe that I will be found not guilty as I did not do anything. He filed them saying that I called him a ugly name and threatened to get even with him. I never did this.

In principle yes. If someone causes criminal proceedings to be launched against you without having probable cause and with an intent that goes beyond serving justice (for example an intent to harass you) and you have been found not guilty, then you can sue that person.
