Can I get a Restraining Order?

I have not talked to my mother in over three years and I am getting married this spring. I am afraid that she is going to show up at the church during my ceremony, which would very much ruin my day. Can I hire a security guard to keep her out of the church or is there any type of restraining order I can get against her so she legally cannot show up? Its sad that I have to think about these things but she cannot be trusted...Is there any way I can keep her out?

Since you have had no contact and no threats or disturbance, I doubt you can get a restraining order against her "just in case".

Yes, if she shows up uninvited to a private event and a private venue, you can have her removed.
