Can I collect unemployment benefits if I don't accept this new job offer?

I currently work for company "A" which has an IT contract with company "B". Company "A" lost the renegotiated contract with company "B". Company "C" (which won the new IT contract with company "B") offered me a job position. If I don't take the job position with the new company "C", I will be laid off (semi-permanently) from company "A". My question is....if I don't take the job offer from company "C", can I collect unemployment benefits?

Only the UI office in your state can give you a binding answer, but in general if you turn down available work you no longer qualify for unemployment.

Exceptions exist so speak to your state UI office.
