My jurisdiction is: MI

I have full legal and physical custody of our 12 year old son. My ex was supposed to have him for spring break and asked my permission to take him out of state. I agreed. When my son got back from his trip, I found out that his father had not gone with him, only his step mom. Honestly, I would have been ok with that if they had been forth coming with that information. What upsets me is that they told my son not to tell me and purposly kept this from me.
Do I have grounds to get his visitation altered?

No. dad is not required to tell you anything. He is free to let the child go with his step-mom. I do not see the big deal at all. He might not have even needed your permission to take him out of state, most decrees do not have that stipulation but you did not clarify if there is something in the decree that specifically requires your permission for out of state travel.

What exactly would modify visitations do? Are you wanting to punish dad through the child by restricting dad even more?
