Sex Crimes, Sex Offenders can i be sued?

Hello,

I will be honest, even though it is embarassing to admit.

I am in the late stages of AIDS, having got the disease from straying during marriage.

For a long time, my ex-wife was negative but now she is hiv+.

Her family is understandably irate and has said they are going to take legal action.

Is that possible? Physically things are very bad right now, and it is frightening to think I could get in legal trouble as well.

Anyone can sue anyone for anything at anytime. The trick is winning

Her family has no standing to sue you.
They could bring a lawsuit.
But, you could easily have it dismissed.
I suggest you focus on your illness.
I pray you and your wife will get through this tragedy.

Who is to say that she contracted it from you?
She was negative for so long, maybe she got it somewhere else?
You don't have much to worry about here. They are angry and will say stupid things, but they will find their options extremely limited if they try to come after you.

Did you "stray" during the marriage to your ex? If so, when did you last have sex with the ex and her (time line) Dx of HIV? Have you failed to inform ANY PARTNERS, INCLUDING THE EX, of your disease after you were Dx'ed?

Did you have sex with your ex while knowingly having aids without her knowing? If so you could get into criminal trouble.

Folks, this person is very ill.

I'm sure he regrets anything that was inappropriate.

In all likelihood he might never recover.

I'm sure he isn't worried about criminal proceedings at this point.


I pray that he and his wife can get a medical miracle.

Some people do well with this disease, Magic Johnson comes to mind.

Others, Rock Hudson was one, don't make it.

I wish both of these people well.
