I work as a medical biller and provided a doctor with a contract that stated she will pay me $5,000.00 a month for my services. She paid $2,000.00 but refuse the pay the rest. She then email me (i have a copy), and said that she will pay me when she gets money. Now she advised her manager that she will not pay me and she wants me to sue her so she can keep it in the court system for 2 years before I get my money.

The contract was with the doctor and both practices listed as places I will be billing for. The dr lives in one county and the practices are located in another. What county should I filed in.

I am concern because her husband is a state county judge for the county she lives in. PLEASE HELP

You can sue her in the county where her business is located. Or, you can sue her in the county where her home us located. I'd choose the one that makes it easier for me or the one where her husband isn't a judge (if that bothers you). I doubt that she will pay you.

Once you get a judgment, you have to collect on it. That isn't easy. All a lawsuit gets you is a piece of paper saying she owes you some money. Then you have a lot of work to potentially collect on the judgment.

Thanks I think I will file it where she lives. I am hoping the embarrasment from it will make her pay. I also do collection so if I get a judgement against her I can put it on her credit. Businesses can easily go belly up.

I also know another billing company that she did this to. She owes them about $15,000.00. Do you think it will help if we team up against her our is that going to be a big legal issue.

You can't team up, but you should each file suits against her in the same venue. You're right, the shame and embarrassment could do it.
