My human resource manager contacted my son's father who was an ex-employee of the company that was terminated a few month's ago and told him approximately how much I made and that I was the reason he got fired. Which he later tried to use against me in child support court. Is there something I can do about this?

No. It was unprofessional of the HR manager to release that information without your permission, but no laws were violated. The only information an employer is required by law to keep confidential is some medical information.
