This offense occured during our 16-20 June 2014 in-port in Singapore on a US Naval Ship. The storage room onboard a US Naval vessel was entered and a refrigerator was stolen. The refrigerator is in one of the contractor crew members stateroom.
We will be doing a room search later to locate the stolen refrigerator. What charges and penalties are applicable?

I wanted to get the Inspector General involved, but my supervisor and the captain want to keep this low key and take care of it. I am not happy about being pressured to cover up for this thievery: Breaking and entering into a government storage room, stealing of government property, and possesion of stolen government property.

Please advise,
