My soon to be ex boyfriend is a former drug addict and is also disabled. I met him when I was at a low point in my life and I have helped him out financially for the past 8 years that he has been living with me. He basically used me (I know, stupid me) and now that we are splitting up he wants one of the two income homes that I purchased (with funds from the house that I own) since we met. He is disabled and I was always helping him out of his financial problems. I am carrying a $35,000 home equity loan because of him. He keeps threatening that since we've been together for 8 years I now owe him 1/2 - that that's the right thing for me to do. I finally got myself emotionally strong and I don't see why I have to continue to pay for his problems. Is he entitled to 1/2 of what I've purchased since he moved in even though we aren't married?
