I bought a timeshare over a decade ago. It was never built, nor is it ever going to be built. Consequently, I have never been able to use the timeshare unit. Also, I no longer have any interest in using the timeshare. Amazingly, I recently received a letter from the timeshare company demanding I pay them $1500 in renovation fees. How do I make them go away? (By the way, I would have no problem just giving up the timeshare unit.)

I routinely rant about car dealers being the lowest of the low and then somebody reminds about timeshares, the world's worst rip off.

If the time share was never built, how is there any renovating being done?

I suggest you take your time share contract to an attorney and review your options.

If the moderators don't mind I'd also like to refer you to a long running discussion about time shares on another site:

Timeshares are among the world's worst and sleaziest deals.

When you consider all the scams out there, even the old "419" and used car lot shysters aren't that bad.
