If an employee is reprimanded by their supervisor,
is it appropriate for that supervisor to discuss it with other non related workers?

For example if an employee is suspended, should the reason for the suspension be discussed with non related workers?

It makes it very difficult for them to return to work with everyone knowing their business. Does the employee have any rights in this instance?

When I reprimand my staff, it stays behind closed doors. Their peers aren't told about it.

There is nothing in the law preventing the exchange of information in this manner.

Appropriate or not, it's not illegal.

I can think of (rare) situations where it might be appropriate. But as Pro says, whether it's appropriate or not, it isn't illegal.
