Bedroom theif

If I know one of my roommates stole things from my bedroom (there is no verifiable proof, but there is proof: she was the only one in the house at the time, and I had just purchased the clothing, and put it into my closet. Also, I had something of hers from the kitchen [a knife] that she removed from my bedroom. I had left it in there to see if it would go missing, proving she had entered my bedroom), can I tell her I have her on video in my bedroom and ask for my things back? Will there be legal reprecussions for lying?

No repercussions, but do you really think she'll fall for that? What will you do when she asks to see the videotape?

unfortunately, I do think she'll fall for it.. she's not brilliant..

I would confront her about it-- and let her know you need your items back -- or even give her a way out by asking who else she has had int he apt per your stuff is gone-- let her know you know she was in your room -- I would not tell you you have a video if you really dont-- that stoops you down to her level --
