I'm looking for advice to see if my mother-in-law goes for an extention of her green card will a personal bankruptcy hurt her chances of getting the extention?

My understanding is that personal bankruptcy should not affect this. One would need to discuss all the facts and circumstances in order to better know the potential repercussions.
