My jurisdiction is: GA

my ex is about to file for bankruptcy. I would like to get custody of my two boys and wonder if by her filing bankruptcy the judge is likely to award me custody. Her credit has always been bad and she only took two years to ruin someone else's (her new husband) credit to the point they have to file bankruptcy. I am not currently having to pay her child support since I still am paying the mortgage on a house we jointly lived in that hasnt sold in those two years and sits vacant. The mortgage is higher than the child support which is why I dont have to pay at this point in time. I am looking for advice on whether her filing for bankruptcy makes her less of a fit mother. What other suggestions do you have on what I should do to try and get my boys.

I have to tread lightly cause my ex is bipolar and I worry about her hurting the boys when she is upset. I know what she is capable of and her mother was a piece of work too.

BK has nothing to do with custody. They do not take kids away because of financial status. You'll need alot more than that for custody.
