I recently found out I have two warrants for bad checks. I want to pay them but was told by the courthouse I have to go to the jail and be arrested because a warrant was made. Is there any way around this? I'm a nurse and will lose my license and job if I'm arrested and my teenage son caused the checks to bounce and I was unable to pay them before warrants were made. Please help!

You might want to speak with a lawyer in your county.

The lawyer can arrange your surrender and avoid an extended jail stay.

You can also speak with a bail bonding agency and arrange bail.

That way you can be booked and released, and return later to clear it up with the court.

It is possible that you may just receive a citation for the warrants and be given a court date to return. You may not be looking at jail time.
