If someone has had a misdemeanor 20 years ago, will that
have a negative effect on the applicant. The company is only
concerned with felonies and anything that would substantiate
reckless, out of control behavior.

Do the FBI / DOJ receive fingerprints for misdemeanors and
Dui arrests? How far do they go with SSN #?

It is impossible to say what kind of an effect because we are not the people doing the evaluating! My understanding is that fingerprints on file remain on file if you've had them taken. If you are worried about what will happen then wait -- there is nothing else that you can do.
