Filed for dissolution of marriage Feb 2007---but physically separated 1/06.
Question 1: Was I married 17 years or 19 years? (Is this judged by when my husband moved out (2006) or when paperwork filed 2007?
I was told alimony is only owed to me from when we served a motion for alimony & support. (Filed a motion for temporary support 5/08)
Question 2: It's been 2 1/2 years & we're still legally married because he has dragged his feet. Does he owe me for the unpaid support for those 2 1/2 years? We have a daughter who lives w/ me 80% and he's paid child support but not spousal support.
Question 3: I'm planning to take bulk payment/cash out of my marital support rather than receive monthly checks. Do you advise this? How do I avoid taxes?
