I purchased a used 05 gmc envoy vehicle from a authorize dealer in New Jersey on 4/6/15 the owner told me specifically he has been driving the car around there's nothing wrong it was a bank owned car it was well taken care of gave me the carfax everything seemed legit test drove it seemed fine then I realized the the blower moter was not working so then he says he'll fix it he thought it was a fuse but good thing my husband is a certified mechanic and realized that wasn't the case so low and behold it's fixed I come to pick up the car like 2days later because he had to get the part and get the proper person to fix it. He gave me a 30day warranty but then tells me he'll be going on vacation for 10days but if anything happens with the car within that time frame we can call his cousin who will be in charge and he will handle it low an behold something goes wrong the check engine light goes on after less than a week of having the car and the front end is making sounds so I'm calling calling no answer 2wks go by the phone is now off calling the cousin the cousin finally picks but speaks little English he can barely understand so my husband starts stopping by the shop to see if anyone is there he can talk to to explain what is happening and so we can bring the truck in finally after 3wks roughly we get in contact with the owner and get to bring the truck in he looks at the front end and asked my husband what the check engine light code was so he can fix the problem. The front end was completely worn so he ended up changing both upper control arms a week later I get the truck back by the time I drive home the check engine light comes back on. Called him back let him know so now I bring the truck back for him to clear this issue he tells me he'll have it done in a day the following week I have to call him because I hear nothing come to find out he had to call in a specialist to get issue fixed and to also get the muffler fixed so I get the car back now and I'm hearing noises one day the noises got scary as I'm on the high driving home when my mechanic looks under the truck it's missing a bolt from the upper control arm and the rest of the bolts are loose now afte all of this I just paid to get this fixed instead of bringing the car back to him the trust is gone, but 60days into having this truck I have no title I called him last Tuesday requesting the title he calls me back the following Monday at 933pm saying he would like to send me the title its Friday and I still have yet to receive the title and I have a notice given to me that states he has 60days to produce the title its now more than sixty I would just like my money back is this possible?

This is where you lodge a complaint against licensed used car dealers in NJ:

You may have to sue the dealer in small claims, if the state can't resolve it for you, or you and dealer can't reach a compromise.

In the future, avoid buying used cars, but if you can't, buy the used car from reputable new car dealers, ONLY!
You pay a little more, but you get some protections.
