Automobile contract agreement

Recently I bought a Toyota vehicle, and have signed a contract agreement for it. In the contract there was an add-on alarm, which I was made to believe that the alarm was already installed in the car. The next day I found out there was no alarm inside the car. I then went to the dealer to cancel the alarm add-on, because I no longer wished for it. They stated that since I signed the contract I couldn't cancel the add-on alarm. So what can I do in this situation in order to cancel the add-on alarm? As I understand, there is no cooling off period for the car. I was wondering if this applies towards the add-on as well?

I am not 100% sure but the cooling off period usually applies to home sales or telemarketing, not if you walk into a dealership and buy a vehicle. Regardless, I think your gut instinct is correct.
