a girl got in trouble a few months ago with her parents for smoking and blamed my son, now her and a friend are saying he attempted to rape the friend who he took to the movies a month or so earlier, with the parents permission, she is under age, he is not. a det. called and left a message for my son to call him 2 weeks ago, and again yesturday, I dont think he should talk to him, am i wrong? should he call him back?

Your son needs to deal with this, not you. He should call the detective back. If he did not attempt any sexual activity with her then he should just tell the truth. How old is this girl? Is your son 18 or over? Dating is not illegal but any attempted sexual contact might be.

If he is being accused of attempted rape, he really needs to speak to an attorney before he talks to any detective. The ramifications here are too serious to be left to the whims of honesty. Even if he is innocent, he might inadvertently say something damning - hence, the need for an attorney's advice.
