I was in an accident last week, the other driver that hit me was at fault. I just found out today that he was not insured. How can I seek compensation from him for loss of income on my part due to accident?. The physical damage that he caused to my work truck will be covered by my insurance company, however i will be losing a lot money due to my inability to work until my work truck is repaired.Do I seek a lawyer? Is it worth it?? I will be out of work for a least a month the way it looks now.

Can you sue the uninsured driver portion of your own insurance coverage?

You can certainly sue the driver, but if he has no assetts and limited resources, I do not know how you'll get the judegement paid but you are free to sue him.

If you have Uninsured Motorist Coverage for bodily injury, use it. That's why it's there. You can sue the other guy, you might get a judgement but they are difficult to enforce.
