Assault & Battery Assault and battery?

My wife was being attack by another women and i ran at the women and pulled her off of my wife. Then she tryed to attack me and i waved my fist at her to scare her off and now i just recieve a warrent for my arrest for assault and battery? What should i do?

You should speak with an attorney. A local attorney can get a copy of the police report and find out the strength of the case against you. It may well be that it is a dog of a case and can be resolved without ever going to court. But, you will not know until you see the report that led to the DA requesting the warrant.

Now, if you live in one of those states where individuals can swear out their own warrants, this may be much easier. But, you should still speak with an attorney.

could i be able to get the police report myself?

That depends on the laws in your un-named state. In my state, you can ASK for the report, but the police and the DA would not have to give it to you until they were in the discovery phase of proceedings, and even then it would go to your counsel.

i guess i will have to look at Virginia state law and see . As of now i geuss my best bet is to go with talking to an Attorney
