Arrest, Search, Seizure, Warrant arrested today or I think?

Hi,

I was arrested today for Solisiting to a minor for sex on the internet. Basicly the situation was that I spoke to someone that claimed to be a freshamn in highschool cute blah blah blah.. I asked if she wanted to hang out and she said maybe. Then she said only if we do stuff, and I told her that I can't promise her that because I would not feel right or safe. Then she said bring a X rated movie, I replied that I don't own any and didnt want to watch an X rated movie. She keep saying bring a condom blah blah blah and I responded Why? she said Just in cause.. I never 1 time said anything about having sex with her, but did ask her 1 time how big her tits was. I asked a couple of questions like if she was pretty etc.. Then I had her call me and she sounded really old and mature, of course "because it was a cop" then I was like hey nice talking to you I wanna know more about you before we hang out. She then said she played softball etc.. I never brought up sex or anything.. The cop was the one that always brought it up. I just told her that we could hang out and couldnt promise her that I would do anything to her cause thats all they wanted me to say. Well we decided to meet, and when I pulled into the parking lot cops grabbed me and told me I was under arrest and the case would be presented to court. they found a condom in my car, "but what 22 year old male does not carry a condom with him?" They kept on looking for porn and keep asking where the porn was etc.. They never found any.. they asked me crazy questins like what my father did for a living etc.. I am really confused about what happend and did not know that I could get arrested for just meeting someone? I am not familiar with the law or what I should do for the next steps? I have a perfect record never arrested or anything, They told me that not to fight it because I would get a wrose case and that it would probley be 1000 fine and 3 months in jail? I honestly don't think I deserve that for just metting someone and telling then that I would couldn't promise that I would do anything with her.. I feel like I was trapped and don't know what to do now.. They did not give me any papers about the situation, but just took a picture of me. They said I would hear from them within 1-3 months.. Someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me on this ... I was never intending on having sex with her in the first place and they are making it sound like I was.. WHAT STEPS SHOULD I TAKE?

Are you serious? This does not really sound like your typical sting operation at all. But if this really happened, you definitely need to talk to a criminal defense attorney, this is a serious charge.

So did they arrest you and take you into the station? or did they just take a picture of you in the parking lot and said they'll be in touch with you?

wow man, i think you made a mistake by going their. if they had to drag you down to the girls house then you can easily argue that she was kinda forcing you to come by her house. but you voluntarily went. i seen this show on abc like 3 or 4 months ago about cops doing the exact same thing they did to you, but in the show they just let the people go with like a ticket or it could have been a court order but you probably get off easy with a fine since you didn't really have sex with her or nothing like that. so i am guessing that the state would just rip you off for being a guy and wont spend their money to put you in jail.
