Hi, I am on a student visa here in the United States and I committed a shoplifting crime about 2 years ago. I pleaded guilty(probably should have hired a lawyer, but couldn't at the time and still can't), and got 2 years probation stating I should stay out of trouble and have a 3.0 GPA in school for those 2 years. I got married about 1.5 years ago with my husband who is a US Citizen, and wanted to apply for a green card when my probation was over, but was wondering if anyone knew what kinds of problems I could encounter, or if I should wait...or what to do?? It is my only crime and have stayed completely clear since.
