OK to explain in detail my wife has one eviction we attempted to apply for an apartment complex.in Missouri and we payed the first months rent along with a holding
fee and an application fee. We were not approved but they cashed the money orders anyway and said we cannot get any of our money back for 30 days. They are also saying g they are going to take the holding fee as well in total would be 380 not including the 70 dollar. Application fee. I am wanting to know if we are entitled to that money before 30 days. They are also saying if we keep calling them they will not give it back to us at all and we are about to be broke and homeless is this legal and can I do anything about it if it isn't?

You probably could bring a lawsuit in small claims.

But, even if you prevailed in small claims, that takes six to eight weeks sometimes.

Sometimes, longer!

Then, you won't get money, you'll simply get a judgment on which you'd have to collect.

I'd say stop harassing them.

Why?

Is it working?

No, it's angering them!

So, wait a few weeks, and they'll return your money.

Yeah, it sucks, but the legal system sucks, too!!!
