Hello, I am new to this forum and hopefully can find the answers I need.
My mother recently passed away. She lived in Vermont, but owned a condo (free and clear, no mortgage) in Arizona.
I also live in Vermont and am co-executrix of her will.
How do I open an ancillary estate in Maricopa County, AZ without using an attorney? I called the probate court there and the clerk was very unhelpful and had NO IDEA what forms I needed. She suggested hiring an attorney. But an attorney quoted me $3,000 to file the paperwork.
It's a simple matter. My mother had no bank accounts or anything else in Arizona, just this condo with a few inexpensive furnishings.
Can anyone let me know what forms I need and if I can find them on-line? I'm sure I can do this without an attorney. My two sister's and I are the beneficiaries and we need to sell this condo as we can't afford the monthly fees or taxes.
Thanks very much in advance.
Linda
