American Mother give birth in Canada, & relinquish rights.

I am pregnant and did not want to abort this child. I know the father wants the baby. I am quite sure the father of my child is a Canadian man however another man in the states could be and is threatening to take the baby if it is his child I cannot let him have it(He has been very abusive), I know this other man from Canada will love and cherish this child forever. Can I go to Canada and have my child and put his name on the birth certificate? Can the American (possible dad) find the child born in Canada? If so would it be easy for the American to try to establish paternity if he does know where the baby is? Please help. I want my baby to have a good life.

The american father can try to establish paternity but it all depends on canadian law. You have no idea if this Canadian man will love and cherish this child forever, apparantly you thougth the American guy was ok to have baby with too. It is very unlikely this american guy would even get custody all you can do is go to Canada and hope this other guy does not pursue this. I would cut off all contact with him.
