I am an American citizen married to a Canadian citizen in British Columbia this past May. My partner and I are having a religious ceremony, for family and friends, in the same BC venue in late August. My question is - is it plausible for me to gain ministerial dispensation for temporary permission to look for work, so I may move to join my spouse? He is sponsoring me for immigration as of this writing, and we're just waiting for a couple of documents to come in before sending them all off. But I have been receiving requests for interviews from Canadian organisations, only to be told that because I don't yet have landed immigrant status I cannot be considered. Doesn't my Canadian marriage help me in this regard?
